Welcome to the May issue of our newsletter. Two items in this issue:

(2) Progic07 - The Third Workshop on Combining Probability and Logic, will be
held in Canterbury, UK, 5-7 September 2007

The British Logic Colloquium (BLC 2007) will be held in De Morgan House,
Central London, 6th September to 8th September 2007; see for more details.

Invited Speakers include: Samson Abramsky (Oxford University), Barry
Cooper (Leeds University), Anuj Dawar (Cambridge University), Jean-Yves
Girard (Marseille University), Rob Goldblatt (Victoria University,
Wellington), Volker Halbach (Oxford University), Wilfrid Hodges (Queen
Mary, London), Moshe Vardi (Rice University, Houston), Frank Wolter
(Liverpool University), Boris Zilber (Oxford University).

We invite contributed talks on any aspect of logic (please contact
the organisers). There is a limited number of bursaries available for students who wish to
attend.  A bursary covers the conference fee and accommodation in London.
Applications for bursaries should be accompanied by a CV, a letter of
recommendation (normally from the student's supervisor) and will be
allocated on the basis of proven ability in logic.

Progic07 - The Third Workshop on Combining Probability and Logic, will be
held in Canterbury, UK, 5-7 September 2007

We welcome submissions of papers on the special focus of the workshop,
Probabilistic Logic and Probabilistic Networks, or indeed on any aspect of
combining probability and logic.


1st May 2007: deadline for submission of titles and abstracts of papers for presentation
to be emailed to please say whether you would be prepared
to submit your paper to a volume of papers on this topic.

1st June 2007:

notification of acceptance of papers for presentation.

15th June 2007:

deadline for receipt of early-bird registration to attend the conference.

register by posting the conference fee of 20 pounds sterling together with
your name, address, phone number and email address to Federica Russo,
Philosophy, SECL, University of Kent, Canterbury, Kent CT2 7NF, UK please
make out cheques to UNIKENT, with `Conference: progic07' on the reverse
de. Payment by bank transfer is also possible: email
for details. Please also send an email to to say that you
will be attending. If registering after 15th June the fee is 30 pounds.
Please proceed as above sending a cheque for this amount.

1st July 2007:

deadline for submission of full papers for publication to be emailed to

5-7th September 2007: conference.

1st October 2007: notification of acceptance of papers for publication.

1st November 2007: deadline for final version of papers accepted for
